What to Expect

Every Treatment includes time for:

  • Intake
  • Assessment
  • Treatment
  • Re-Assessment and Home Care, Questions
  • Administration (Payment/Re-booking)

Things to take note of:

  • Your appointment it booked especially for you. Please do not arrive late as it will decrease the hands-on time you will receive. Upon arrival, please wait in the waiting area outside the elevator and your RMT will come get you when its time for your appointment. 
  • You can sign up for reminders (texts, emails), but ultimately it is your responsibility to come to your appointment.
  • There is a 24 hour Cancelation Policy.
  • After your first visit, you must put a credit card on file for late cancelations or. no shows.
  • Your treatment is meant to help YOU. Please communicate with me during our appointment so I can help you better!

FAQ

Where are you located and is there parking?

Tailwind Wellness is located at 224 Esplanade West in unit #549.

There is an above ground parking lot accessible between Chesterfield and Sesmisch that has two guest parking spots (13 & 14: HBC Guests).

Street Parking: there is a lot of 1 to 2 hour areas close by.

Pay Parking: a few blocks away close to Fresh Street and Boston Pizza.

Please leave yourself enough time to park and walk to Tailwind Wellness.

Are you transit accessible?

Yes we are! 

Tailwind Wellness is located just up the street from the Seabus and Lonsdale Terminal. 

What are the rates of your treatments?

Please visit the “Treatments” Page. 

Is Registered Massage Therapy covered by Extended Health Benefits/Insurance?

Massage by a Regisistered Massage Therapist is covered by most extended healthcare insurance.

For more information about your particular coverage, please review your individual plan.

Do you Direct Bill?

Yes! Currently we bill to Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life and companies associated with Telus eHealth.

Please fill in your billing information on your profile, or bring your insurance infomation to your treatment.

*Sun Life: The primary policy holder has to sign the Electronic Transmission Authorization and Consent form for direct billing.

 

** We are unable to bill secondary insurance unless it is Canada Life. 

 

Do I need a Doctors referral?

No you do not need a doctors referral for Registered Massage Therapy.

*Please check your requirements with your personal health insurance.

Do you deal with ICBC/Work Safe Claims?

At this moment I do not deal with ICBC or Work Safe claims. 

You can come in for treatment, pay the full price upfront and submit to ICBC or Work Safe afterwards. 

Do you have a cancellation Policy?

Yes, there is a 24 hour Cancellation Policy.

Any last minute cancellations, no shows, or last minute changes to your appointment is subject to a cancellation fee (up to a full treatment price).

To avoid any fees, please give a minimum of 24 hours notice.

Do you treat pregnant women?

Yes we do! And when you reach a time in your pregnancy where it is uncomfortable to lay on your stomach, we have body cushions that can accomodate your growing belly. 

Can I bring my child(ren) to my appointment?

Yes! If it means that you are able to come in for your appointment, you are more than welcome to bring your child(ren) in. 

We do not have any toys or books, so please also bring things to keep them happy.
